How to find viable options for your next career move (when you have no idea where to start)

When you embark on a career change, either through your own personal choice or your hand is forced by redundancy, you will hear a multitude of advice. I personally felt overwhelmed with it and have narrowed it down into a few bullet points to help you out.

1. Find Your Passion

Ask yourself the 3 questions above. What gives me energy? What am I good at? What will the world pay me for?

This will get you out of the career-change starting blocks and get your creative juices flowing. If you would like to delve deeper, you could go full IKIGAI, which I wrote an article about a few years ago. If you are looking for a fast track version, use the Venn diagram above.

2. Do it with others

This is a time where you need to activate your support systems. Yes, I deliberately used the plural there. You will need to have people around you who play different roles, you don’t need to do this alone.
